'Woodpecker'
Description: 'Woodpecker' is the second in a series of 'burnings' using indigenous wildlife of the uk (the badger box didge was the first). I often marvel at images of nature from around the world and wondered why look so far away, when there is such rich and diverse nature in my own country!
When looking for a suitable piece of wood to use for this image, I was was struck at the way the grain worked as if the bark on a tree and the hole at the top was the beginnings of the hole being made by the woodpecker.
