'Crosses'

Description:  'Crosses' was painted at roughly the same time as 'masts'. I was experimenting with paining with anything and everything but a brush- or at least the bristles of a brush. I was trying to find what mark made what shape and what group of marks created what effect. I was also interested in how gold affects an image.

Many different interpretations have been made of what this piece is about, I like to let the viewer decide - it is what is is to me, and is invariably different to other people!
