'Mother and Child'

Description:  'Mother and child' started out as many of many of my ideas do - from an abscent doodle or thought. At art college I recall a lesson where we were instructed to choose a composition from life and draw it. Then to do the same but this time squinting our eyes and only picking out the shapes and colours. This sparked an interest in Art deco and influensed this style in my drawing of simplifying the shapes and incorporating a geometric aspect to the composition.
